A word from the founder

Two languages that open doors.

In a career, language often decides what you have access to: a job, a course, a client, a negotiation. English opens the international market. French opens administration, study and employment across the French-speaking world.

In a few minutes I explain why these two languages matter to a professional, and how we work on them here: through practice, at your own pace, with a level assessed honestly.

EN Work, apply and communicate internationally.
FR Study, settle and work in a French-speaking environment.

Professional coaching

The English of your work, differently.

Management, finance, public administration, law: targeted coaching, one to one, in a small group, or for your staff.

On request

The price depends on the field, the number of people and the pace. So there is no figure on display: there is a conversation to open.

Your level

Where do you actually stand?

Six levels, from absolute beginner to independence. The test places you in about thirty minutes.

Take the placement test
A1 Absolute beginner

Introduce yourself, greet people, say what you like. Understand simple sentences spoken slowly.

A2 Beginner

Order, ask a price, talk about your day. Hold a short, predictable conversation.

B1 Intermediate

Get by while travelling, write a clear message, explain a point of view simply.

B2 Upper intermediate

Take part in a meeting, argue a case, understand a technical text in your field.

C1 Independent

Express yourself without searching for words, catch what is implied, work or study in the language.

C2 Mastery: not offered at launch

The course stops at C1. C2 is prepared with accredited institutions.

Placement test

An adaptive test locates your level, from A1 to C1, in about thirty minutes.

Working up the ladder

Modules, lessons, audio and exercises. You climb the CEFR scale stage by stage.

Exam preparation

We prepare you for the level you are aiming at. The official exam is taken with the accredited institution.

Certificate of completion

A certificate at the end of the course, honest about what it is: not a State diploma.

Two memory curves: one falling away after a single session, the other falling more slowly after several spaced recalls.

Learning as an adult: time does part of the work

People often assume that learning a language as an adult is mostly a matter of willpower. That is partly true, and badly distributed: how your hours are spaced matters as much as how many you put in. What the research shows, what it does not, and what you can do with it this week.

A scale of the six levels, from A1 to C2, grouped in three pairs: basic user, independent user, proficient user.

What a language level tells you, and what it leaves out

A2, B1, C1: these labels are everywhere, on job adverts and language schools alike. They describe something precise, and far narrower than most people assume. Here is what they measure, and what they quietly leave aside.
